Sunflower Fields
2014 - 2015
In 2014 - 2015 #Get Sunflowered planted five sites in central Moe, Morwell and Traralgon.
The project was developed to become a series of events including cleaning and preparing sites, planting, maintenance (weeding + culling), watering, harvest and, finally, site clean up. Each town has a sunflower harvest celebration with a harvest party featuring local bands, performers, food vendors and activities.

“Our sunflowers have boldly gone to places no sunflower has gone before: a degraded ex-petrol station site, an abandoned hospital site, a redundant tennis court, and a car yard-turned-squat. Almost overnight, derelict eyesores have been rendered luxurious gold. Locals are empowered: by doing simple things, people can make their street, their neighbourhood and their lives better”
